Work in progess by David Garcia Diaz—who claims there’s still lots of work to be done although I love it just the way it is.

Taken from Olan Mill’s upcoming album ‘Paths’ on Facture, out May 11th. Direct and melodic without the obsession of minimalism, ‘Paths’ is an honest and engaging account of both melancholy and euphoria.

Don’t know anymore how I stumbled upon this, but I remember now that I see it again that I loved this video from the very first moment on, the stillness of pure minimalism it communicates.

It’s produced by Raya, and all I found out about her is that she is from Korea and curates two beautiful tumblelogs (1, 2). Drop her a line to let her name she’s wonderfully talented.

Patrick Watson :: Adventures In Your Own Backyard

‘Into Giants’ is from Patrick Watson’s forthcoming album ‘Adventures In Your Own Backyard’ will be releasing his new album on Domino on May 1st. It was made at home after a grueling five-year run that saw Patrick and his band tour the world in support of two critically-acclaimed and successful albums.

In Patrick’s own words, ’Adventures …’ is an effort on the band’s part to “make the kind of music we would want to listen to at home.” The album’s title is a nod to this sentiment and to the fact that it was recorded almost entirely in Watson’s apartment in Montreal, unlike his previous efforts which were sprawling recordings in both geography and arrangements.
